Keep Mental Health in Mind

03/18/2020 health_wellness

Stop the stigma surrounding mental health by raising awareness, showing compassion, and getting the conversation started.

Since 1949, Mental Health Awareness month has been celebrated in May to raise awareness, fight stigma, provide support and educate the public about the importance of mental health.  Help spread mental health awareness with these tips to start the conversation early and spread mental health awareness.

Create a Safe Space

Organizations continue to explore ways in which the importance of self care can be effectively communicated. Institute a welcoming work environment by having open and professional conversations, encouraging participation in relationship building activities, and communicating any resources which help with emotional health and wellbeing.

Be Supportive

Everyone needs a strong support system, be sure to consistently check in with the people in your life. When applicable, regularly let everyone in your line of business know about consultative resources that are available to help those who may be struggling.

Share Information

Show the world your support by spreading the word on social media. Use your platform to share information about screenings, hotlines and support for mental health while raising mental health awareness.
